There’s going to be a lot of activity at that end of town.” referring to the Aspen Art Museum development a block away, and his Crandall Building project, where Sandy's Office Supply is presently located, which shares the alley with the Hopkins Avenue properties.

DOWNTOWN ASPEN REAL ESTATE - A local development firm has acquired two adjacent properties in downtown Aspen, including consignment shop Susie’s Limited, and company manager Greg Hills said he’s not sure what his ultimate plans are for the land. Austin Lawrence Partners — Hills and wife Jane Hills are principals — bought 623 E. Hopkins Ave. in November for $2.5 million. Three buildings sit on the property, including Susie’s, a hair salon, and Susie’s on the Alley. Susie’s proprietor Susan Harvey has run the consignment shop on the property for 20 years.In September, the firm purchased 205 S. Spring St., the corner lot next to Susie’s where a Victorian-era house sits. For nearly 40 years the home belonged to William R. “Adam” Walton, who passed away in 2009, leading the Hills to purchase the home from his estate for $4.6 million, according to Pitkin County property records.The Hills now have ownership of half of the 600 block of East Hopkins Avenue.
