The Estin Report is a sales, marketing and research platform for his listings and for Aspen Snowmass luxury real estate. It is widely read by sellers and buyers, attorneys, appraisers, brokers, bankers, planners, developers, architects, builders, journalists and others. Tim has also contributed articles and comments on Aspen real estate in the Mountain Business Journal, Aspen Times, Aspen Daily News, Aspen Sojourner Magazine, Aspen Magazine, Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, Aspen Business Journal, LuxuryRealEstate.com, NewWest.net, Bloomberg, WSJ and interviews on NPR/Colorado Public Radio and KAJX/Aspen Public Radio.
He has held various Aspen Board of Realtors positions communicating governmental policies, political issues, land use code changes and their consequences directly to the Aspen real estate business community and beyond:
o 2006 and 2007: Aspen Board of Realtor's (ABOR) Liaison to the City of Aspen, CO
o 2005 and 2006: ABOR Liaison for the 2006 Pitkin County Land Use Code Rewrite approved after a three year review.
o 2005 and 2006: Pitkin County Technical Advisory Committee/Land Use Code Rewrite advising the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) and P&Z - the single broker representative selected by Pitkin County BOCC of the then 700 member Aspen Board of Realtors.
Tim has long-time family roots in Aspen with an insider's connection to the local real estate scene - it's history, geography, people and networks. He learned to ski before he could walk and went to elementary school at the Yellow Brick in Aspen's historic west end. For his high school Choate Rosemary Hall senior year project thru the following summer, he returned home to Aspen and was an architect's apprentice for his friend and mentor, Fritz Benedict, Aspen's noted architect for whom the Aspen Music Festival Benedict Tent is named. In the 1980's with Fritz, Tim was one of the founding directors of the Tenth Mountain Hut & Trail Association between Aspen and Vail. Later, he worked in Aspen as a consultant/market analyst for Sno-engineering, Inc now SE Group, the well-known mountain resort planning & consulting firm then based in Aspen and Lyme, NH.

Peter Estin Hut
Tim's father, Peter Estin, was a ski industry pioneer with a unique background. Born in Prague, his family emigrated to Boston in the early Forties. After graduating from Dartmouth as ski team captain, then an MS in International Relations from Harvard, he became Director of Ski Schools at Sugarbush, Vt and Portillo, Chile attracting east coast high society - the Jet Set and media attention to those resorts in the late 1950's and early 60's. Featured in numerous issues of Ski and Skiing Magazines amongst others, he wrote the book "Ski the American Way" considered by many a ski teaching classic. He was also a New Yorker, Saturday Evening Post and Colliers cartoonist, and a book of his cartoons "Jestin with Estin" was published posthumously in the 70's. He died at age 35 of ski related injuries. The Peter Estin Hut, the 3rd hut in the Tenth Mtn Hut System, was built in 1985 in his memory by his family.
