Family Feud Settled: Two Halves of Aspen Main St Home Sold, ADN

ASPEN REAL ESTATE - A longtime family feud that played out over a Main Street Victorian has been settled, with the recent sale of the home to one of Aspen’s more innovative developers.The house at 518 W. Main St., which for about two years had a sign in the front window saying half the property was not for sale, sold on March 10 — one 50 percent undivided share for $1 million, the other for $975,000.The buyer of both halves was Fat City Holdings LLC, represented by local businessman Peter Fornell, who most recently lobbied the city of Aspen to create an affordable housing credits program. The program would allow developers who voluntarily build affordable housing to then sell credits later to developers who are required to provide affordable housing mitigation.
