Another downtown Aspen pentouse sold for a near record price per square foot. The property at 508 E. Cooper closed yesterday for $13.2M/$2,680 sq ft. This is the fifth property to sell in Aspen for over $10M since Jan 1st. The record Aspen penthouse sale at 625 E. Hyman # 301 took place in Mid-November 2014 and closed at $15.8M/$3,126 sq ft. Reason for these high numbers: 1) They are gorgeous; 2) Center of everything location; 3) Aspen penthouses are a disappearing asset – the City of Aspen doesn’t allow them anymore.
