Development proposal needs work before approval, Aspen City Council says

ASPEN REAL ESTATE — The latest plans to demolish and redevelop a building in the heart of downtown haven’t impressed the Aspen City Council enough to approve it — yet.The council on Monday reviewed the development proposal for the Mountain Plaza Building, which is located on the northwest corner of Galena Street and the Cooper Avenue Mall.Council members, residents and business owners expressed concern over the impacts that construction would have on what’s been characterized as the premiere corner of downtown Aspen.
