Aspen’s occupancy has faded, and will continue to fade, in the home stretch of ski season, compared to last year. The reservations on the books as of March 15 indicate Aspen’s tourist accommodations were at about 65 percent for what should have been one of the season’s busiest weeks. Last year, the comparable advance reservations for that week were 90 percent and the actual occupancy turned out to be 92 percent, according to the latest occupancy study. Last-minute reservations were expected to provide at least a small boost for last week, but updated numbers weren’t available.
