The Aspen Valley Foundation (AVF) obtained Basalt City Council approval for a 96-unit retirement community last November at the former 18 acre Stott’s Mill sawmill site near the Basalt High School. Now the group is seeking an investor partner to fund construction and operations management of the project. The original timetable for breaking ground was for 2015 but due to the retirement of the group’s executive director, it may need to be extended.
