The Basalt Town Council’s review of the Continuing Care Retirement Center, a senior housing and assisited living facility in Basalt’s South Side, was put on hold in order to give the applicants and town senior staff time to negotiate an agreement on affordable housing. The town code calls for 39 of the planned 78 housing units be affordable housing units. The applicants say that would make the highly desirable project, from all parties’ perspectives, too costly and not feasible financially.
