The ex-home of world renowned architect Victor Lundy built in 1972 at 301 Lake Ave on Triangle Park in the heart of Aspen’s Historic West End was sold in late spring 2014 for $5.75M after multiple bids over the ask price of $5.295M. The buyer, a developer owned LLC, is now requesting development exemptions and variances in return for voluntarily adding the property to the City of Aspen’s Aspen Modern program created to save the best examples of post-war Aspen achitecture. A neighbor who fears such set-back variance allowances will result in a Lundy house expansion up to one foot from his bedroom window, is protesting loudly.
