DOWNTOWN ASPEN REAL ESTATE – After submitting an application last year for a third story redevelopment to beat zoning changes, the owners of 602 E. Hyman Ave. at the corner of Hunter Street and Hyman, say they no longer want it. They had submitted their application in spring 2012 to get in under the wire of changes to downtown height restrictions imposed by Aspen city council changing building height requirements to 28 feet from the prior 42 foot height restriction. A number of downtown redevelopment projects submitted plans prior to the end of March 2012 cut-off date requesting an additional third story for free market penthouse condominiums.
