The 137 acre mid-valley Glassier Ranch was bought for $5.9 million by Pitkin and Eagle Counties for open space and trails with each paying $2.45M and the balance was paid for by Great Outdoors Colorado who awarded a $1 million grant to help in the purchase. The ranch is located on Hooks Spur Rd in Emma. It is adjacent to Red Ridge Ranch Open Space, a 145-acre spread that was also once owned by the Glassier Family. The properties combined total 282 acres stretching from the Roaring Fork River across Hooks Spur and into the lower slopes of The Crown. Half of the combined open space is irrigated with abundant water rights from the Home Supply Ditch.
