EL JEBEL AND BASALT –  Some of the Pitkin County commissioners aren’t happy with their counterparts in Eagle County, who last week approved plans for a large real estate development in the sliver of Eagle that runs through the Roaring Fork Valley. As approved, the development, dubbed the Tree Farm, would put a new 319-residence settlement in El Jebel across Highway 82 from Willits Town Center. It would also include more than 90,000 square feet of commercial space. At a meeting Tuesday, the Pitkin commissioners worried that the Tree Farm would put undue strain on services in the midvalley, specifically on buses running between Aspen and Glenwood Springs.
