Some high-profile development properties — a shopping center and two hotels in Snowmass, the Sinclair Meadows neighborhood and the Stage 3 redevelopment on Main Street — have already been sold at public auction or will be soon.

ASPEN REAL ESTATE – Nearly halfway through the year, foreclosure filings in Pitkin County are double what they were at the same point in 2009.Seventy-six foreclosure proceedings have been initiated so far in 2010, compared to 37 last year in mid-June, according to Tiffany Wancura of the Pitkin County treasurer’s office.The foreclosures cover a wide spectrum of properties and price ranges, affecting the wealthy to the worker bees. Unpaid loan balances range from $88,000 to $10.3 million.“It’s everything,” said Wancura.Pitkin County ended 2009 with 105 foreclosure filings, a 24-year high and the third most since 1973.
