‘What we’re trying to do is not cut services’
ASPEN — With Pitkin County’s financial advisors projecting a 15 percent decline in revenue this year and absolutely no rebound in 2010, government officials will be scrutinizing every expenditure as the budget review process gets under way next month… County commissioners will meet Tuesday with their Economic Advisory Board to review the board’s economic projections for 2010 and beyond. The board is projecting no increase from this year’s reduced revenues and an average increase of just 1.2 percent over the next five years.Sales tax revenues are down 20 percent so far this year, but the board expects a 15 percent overall drop by the time the year is over.
