Tidbit: Aspen received a record breaking snowstorm(s) last week of 22-25″ with the monthly snowfall surpassing the 40-year old, 1970 record of 36″ for April totals.
According to the Aspen Times and Aspen Water Plant’s records, there were 27 inches of snow in April 2009 and 23.6 inches in April 2008. The average snowfall for the month since 1934 is 15.5 inches. (See the article.)
